Lisa Wilson (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology.
Lisa brings experience supporting individuals across the lifespan facing a wide range of challenges, including mental health concerns, life transitions, stress and burnout, and family dynamics. With over a decade of experience in early childhood development, she is especially passionate about working with children, youth, and families navigating trauma, self-harm, depression, anxiety, academic pressure, low self-esteem, addiction, and emotional regulation difficulties.
Lisa is a trained Circle of Security facilitator and is deeply committed to helping caregivers foster secure, healthy attachments with their children. Her therapeutic approach centers on building authentic, strength-based relationships grounded in validation, non-judgment, and emotional safety.
Lisa is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and primarily works from a cognitive behavioural framework. However, she adapts each session to align with the unique goals and needs of her clients. She also integrates elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Clients working with Lisa can expect open and honest communication in a supportive space. She offers deep listening, normalizes and validates experiences, highlights existing strengths, gently challenges unhelpful thought patterns, and supports meaningful change.
Lisa is thrilled to be part of the Better You Counselling Services team and looks forward to connecting with you.
